Our skin is covered in millions of tiny hole-like structures known as pores. These holes are responsible for allowing nutrients to enter skin and also allow the expulsion of dirt and toxins out of the skin as well. Sweat glands, hair follicles and blood capillaries are other structures that can be found around the skin pore tissue.
Enlarged pores are mostly caused by genetics however oily skin can also contribute to the enlargement of pores. This leads to skin feeling rough and oily due to excessive sebum production. As skin ages further, it loses vital proteins such as collagen and elastin that regulate pore size and thus increasing pore size.
Other than rough skin, enlarged pores are also susceptible to other skin conditions such as acne and blackheads.
Treatment for enlarged pores will dramatically improve skin texture, reduce oiliness and prevent pores from being clogged with dirt and bacteria.
