Skin Resurfacing Laser

Skin resurfacing laser is a type of resurfacing therapy that uses laser to improve skin conditions and treat skin blemishes.

There are two types of skin resurfacing lasers:

  • Ablative laser – A wounding laser that removes thin layers of the skin
  • Non-ablative laser – A non-wounding laser

Although non-ablative laser is less invasive and has a faster recovery time, it is not as effective as ablative laser therapy.

Skin resurfacing laser are known to be beneficial for patients with acne, static wrinkles, enlarged pores and uneven pigmentation.

Post-treatment:

Skin may stay red or pink after a few months after ablative laser resurfacing but you can see noticeable difference when your skin begins to heal in terms of appearance and health. The effect of this treatment can last you years if necessary precautions are taken.

Non-ablative laser resurfacing results are more gradual and progressive compared to ablative laser. You can see significant improvement in skin texture and pigment.

In order to get better results, avoid excessive sunlight for one year after treatment to prevent irregular pigmentation. Discuss with our doctors on how you can prolong the effects of the treatment through lifestyle modifications and how to protect your skin from the adverse effects of the sun.
